The BB04 model draws its initial design cues from late 1950’s Madison Avenue art directors and Greenwich Village Jazz style. Our homage to this timeless shape evolves the silhouette away from a retro look streamlining the bridge and curving and sweeping the temples to create a modern frame that is versatile, wearable and elegant just as at home worn with workwear or military vintage as it is with the finest bespoke suit.

HANDMADE IN LONDON

The Bob Browns 'BB04 a' is manufactured by hand in our London workshops, constructed from a dark havana coloured premium Mazzuchelli Italian acetate and fitted with high quality Italian CR39 lenses in a Grey Blue Fade.

Each frame is made in limited runs taking over 70 hours to produce from start to finish. From setting out the frame shape to cutting, polishing and fitting the lens each step is undertaken by our experienced artisans. Our small British work shops celebrate the long history of eyewear making in the UK and still maintain and use machines and tools with a history from deep in the mid 20th Century alongside the best in contemporary machining processes.

Our fronts and temples are made from well-seasoned Italian cellulose acetate with heavyweight 8mm fronts and 6mm sides all sculpted by hand. Each frame is hand polished and assembled with fronts and temples connected using stainless steel five-barrel hinges, mechanically pinned through the frame and polished off by hand.

PACKAGING & CARE

Each of our frames is housed in a bespoke leather case designed to age gracefull. Handmade in the midlands of England by premium leathergoods specialists from veg tanned Italian leather and lined in suede each case is hand stitched, wax edged and de-bossed with our distinctive logo.

Do not place your lenses in direct contact with hard or abrasive surfaces.

To clean your glasses use products specifically suited for optical lens cleaning. Never use solvents, alcohol or abrasive solutions. Use only microfibre cloths for drying or cleaning. Use only authentic Bob Browns replacement spare parts. Store in a microfiber cloth or in the original hard case in a dry place and within a temperature of between -10 and + 35 degrees.
